Safeguarding Our Seas and Shores – A Conversation

Speakers:

Prof. Iris Möller, Chair of the Geography Department at Trinity College Dublin, is a coastal geomorphologist whose research explores how physical and biological processes interact along coastlines, particularly within the intertidal zone, the area between high and low tide. With more than 20 years’ experience working on the southeast coast of the UK, she previously served as Deputy Director of the Cambridge Coastal Research Unit at the University of Cambridge. Her talk will focus on Coastal Processes in the Nearshore – How Energy and Seabed Material Move in Shallow Water.

Mr. Norman Fullam is a blue-water sailor, former merchant naval officer, solicitor and pilot. He held national responsibility for maritime communications, search and rescue, and environmental protection. A former member of both the Irish Environmental Law Association and the Irish Maritime Law Association, he brings extensive expertise in maritime governance. The title of his session  is Why Are Dubliners in the Dark About Offshore Wind Projects? The meeting will take place at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire, on 3 March 2026 at 7:30pm.
