Barriers to Accessing Bank Accounts for Community Groups – consultation open until the 31st October 2026
Many community groups are aware of the challenges faced when trying to open an account to access grants and funding, and it’s something we’ve also heard directly from a number of our member groups in recent conversations. Social Justice Ireland is conducting a short, anonymous survey to better understand how community groups access basic financial services, and where gaps may exist. While the consultation refers to “bank accounts”, it also includes credit unions and post offices as key providers for community groups.
