About this opportunity
In 2023/24 Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office will fund two artists with the time, resources, and support to develop their skills to work with people who live, visit or work in our County. We want artists to use this opportunity to explore and develop their skills in working with people to create art.
Supporting artists to develop their work with communities of place or interest is the focus of this opportunity. What we mean by community of place is a group based in a geographical area, for example a Tidy Towns Group or a Men’s Shed. What we mean by community of interest is a group of people that share an interest together, like a hobby, for example to birdwatch or garden.
This opportunity will focus on your artistic development. It aims to allow you the time and resources to test out and develop your methods of working with a community to create art. We are less concerned with a final product, for example a performance, exhibition, or a song. This may be part of the outcome from this opportunity, but it is not the main objective.
These opportunities are funded by the Arts Council and supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
