The National Volunteering Strategy 2021-2025 seeks to recognise, support and promote the unique value and contribution that volunteers make to Irish society. The strategy aims to invest in capacity building for Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) through the delivery of training for Volunteer Managers (Action 20) to enhance and support volunteers’ experiences.
Pobal, on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development, is engaging with those that manage volunteers to better understand their training needs . As part of this we are looking to conduct a number of focus groups.
Who can participate?
We will be conducting focus groups with those that manage, organise or coordinate volunteers as part of their role, whether paid or unpaid. The focus groups will be:
– Those that have received training to assist with their role as someone who manages volunteers (May 3rd)
– Those that have not received training to assist with their role as someone who manages volunteers (May 4th)
