Community Woodland Planting Scheme

The dlr Parks Department have an exciting opportunity for volunteers to make a significant impact to their local environment. As part of our commitment to delivering improved tree cover and native forests, we are planting 10,000 native trees between February and March 2024 and need your help!

By participating in this project, you will be making a direct, positive, and long term contribution to your local area. There are many benefits to having more trees including improving air quality, habitat for wildlife and offsetting carbon.

The sites identified for this tree-planting initiative are Cluny Park, Shanganagh Cliffs, and Clonkeen Park.

Planting will take place from 10am-3pm on the following dates:

  • Cluny Park: Saturday 24th February
  • Shanganagh Cliffs: Saturday 2nd & 9th March
  • Clonkeen Park: Saturday 16th & 23rd March (National Tree Week)

Come and join in and encourage friends, family, neighbours, and colleagues to volunteer too!

Email parksconsultations@dlrcoco.ie for further details and to register to attend.
