In this workshop you will learn how local policies impact on communities and how to prepare a policy position. It will include factors in influencing policy at the local level; the role of Linkage Groups in influencing policy; how Linkage Groups can work effectively; and effective communication.
Liam Scollan
Liam has headed up a state body whose work was to seek to influence policies across a range of government departments. He is an effective advocate and communicator and has won a national award for public sector communications. He devotes his work now to the not-for-profit sector providing a wide range of training supports and including community consultation and leadership development in the sector. He is an experienced educator and facilitator and designs all his sessions to be inclusive, interactive and fun.
